For the role of Receptionist in the Regional Security Office, the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria is currently accepting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

Responsibilities
– The incumbent is the initial point of contact for guests visiting the U.S. Consulate and works as a receptionist there.
– The incumbent confirms the visitor’s appointment, contacts the offices they are visiting, makes sure they are escorted, and, if needed, gives them pertinent information.
– The information provided by the incumbent to visitors is based on their understanding of US government laws and policies, most frequently those pertaining to public access control and visiting policies at US consulates.
Academic Requirement
Any applicant is expected to have at least a secondary school degree
Working Experience
It is necessary to have at least one (1) year of previous job experience dealing with the public in a clerical or security role in a respectable organization.
Capability and Skills
– In order to communicate in writing, one must be able to write notes to mission officers about visitor inquiries and/or problems.
– One must also be able to deal with emotional or angry visa applicants and deal with the public in a courteous, yet assertive manner.
– Finally, written communication requires good computer user skills (MS Word and Outlook).
