The competitive Mitacs Globalink Research Internship program is open to international undergraduate students from the following nations and regions: Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Pakistan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and United States.

Program Benefits

Program Eligibility 

Candidates must: – At the time of application, be at least eighteen years old. 

– Enroll entirely at an approved institution in an undergraduate or combined undergraduate/master’s program. 

– As of autumn 2025, have one to three semesters left in their program. 

– Fulfill the grade standards specified by their academic nation. 

– Make sure the projects you apply to are from at least 3 distinct Canadian provinces. – Apply to no more than 3 and no more than 10 projects. 

– Possess fluency in the project’s oral and written languages (French or English). 

– Be available to finish a 12-week internship that starts on May 1 and ends on October 31. Your internship must be available for you to begin at any time between May 1 and July 31. Anything that occurs before or after such times is prohibited. 

– Not previously received funding for a Globalink Research Internship project. 

An applicant cannot be a member of a Mitacs-funded project that aspires to develop a Sensitive Technology Research Area (STRA) if they are currently associated with, receiving funds from, or receiving in-kind support from one or more of the universities included on the list of NROs. Additionally, Mitacs will verify the accuracy of the completed declarations and review a sample of applications chosen at its sole discretion. Because of questionable links, Mitacs maintains the ability to reject financing for any project that advances a sensitive technology research field at any time.
