About Job
– We are seeking for a competent and qualified Head of Finance to join our team in Ikeja, Lagos
– By directing and managing the financial control function, treasury management, accounting, budgeting, performance analysis, and financial reporting functions, as well as molding the organization’s financial stability, you will play a crucial role as the head of finance.
– To achieve successful budgeting, support strategic planning and forecasting, and sustainability, the successful candidate will proactively identify problems, opportunities, and solutions while making sure that all financial activities are accurately captured and promptly reported.
Job Responsibilities
– Total accountability for planning, reporting, and managing liquidity as well as budget preparation.
– Create and carry out the organization’s financial plan in accordance with its goals.
– In accordance with legal requirements and accounting standards, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
– Create financial guidelines and practices to improve operational effectiveness.
– Perform a thorough financial analysis to find patterns, dangers, and areas for development. Then, give top management well-informed advice.
– Create and keep up-to-date financial statements for your records.
– Keep an eye on and control spending within the allocated funds.
– Establish a high-performance culture by leading and mentoring the financial staff.
– Creation and submission of the monthly rendition for CBN and NDIC Replies
– Monthly submission of statutory deductions, including PAYE, WHT, VAT, and so forth.
– Have advanced understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and know how to use them (IFRS).
– The main organizer of the meeting and the person responsible for preparing and presenting the Monthly Performance Review (MPR) report.
– Share financial performance and projections; help with the monthly and quarterly reports that are prepared and reviewed for the board, shareholders, regulatory agencies, etc.
– Creation of the bank’s yearly budget, including the ratios and underlying assumptions.
– Collaborate with both internal and external auditors to provide seamless and effective audit procedures.
– Examine and accept all schedules and reconciliations, including accrued charge schedules and bank statements.
– Suggestions for cutting costs
Qualifications
Any candidate seeking for the position must have:
– a minimum of five years of experience in finance and control, three of those years spent in a senior management role.
– bachelor’s or HND degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a similar discipline. An additional benefit is professional qualification (such as ACCA or ICAN).
– thorough knowledge of bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and cash flow management.
– strong familiarity with financial reporting standards and laws pertaining to the microfinance sector, as well as expertise in general ledger and financial statement creation.
– analytical thinking, outstanding problem-solving abilities, and meticulousness.
– shows a thorough understanding of business finance, performance analysis, and advanced financials.
– outstanding interpersonal and presenting abilities; capacity to explain complicated financial concepts to stakeholders in the financial and non-financial domains.
– proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting applications.
– solid understanding of IFRS.
Salary
N300,000 – N500,000 monthly
