Become a Part of 2025 Paid World Bank Summer Treasury Internship

Application Deadline: October 13,2024

Are you aspiring to work on the trading floor of a large bank, investment firm, private equity firm, or one of the departments supporting that role, similar to a rising senior in college? A Treasury Summer Internship will give you a significant push in that direction.

The World Bank Treasury Summer Internship Program is a young professional training initiative that aims to equip participants with the skills needed for a fulfilling and stimulating career in finance. The Program seeks to complement the World Bank’s development mandate by bringing in outstanding undergraduate students who have shown a desire to pursue a career in finance. After the intern completes their degree program, the internship prepares them for a two-year position on a Treasury team as a Junior Analyst. It is anticipated that fellows will be in their second or final year of a four-year college degree program.

Detail of the Internship

Treasury Summer Interns in Washington, DC are scheduled to work 10 weeks, full-time, from May 27 to August 4, 2025. Before starting a three-week rotation across Treasury teams, interns participate in a customized onboarding program during their first week on the job. Interns engage in weekly talks with the program director during the summer, and they also attend a speaker series on career perspectives where they hear from a variety of Treasury officers, managers, and directors. The almost 300-person Treasury is accessible to interns, and they can even meet the Vice President and Treasurer. Presenting their work in a final presentation to the management team, interns conclude their internship by presenting to their respective teams at the end of each cycle.

Payment

– Interns are hired on a temporary, short-term basis and receive 400 hours of work at a rate of $21.30 (net for non-US nationals) to $26.00 (gross) per hour. It is planned that all interns would spend the whole internship—which runs from May 27 to August 4—in person and full-time in Washington, DC. Although HR regulations are subject to change, interns must work in the office four days a week at the very least.

– A laptop from the World Bank will be given to each intern at the beginning of the program. If necessary, the World Bank can obtain the necessary visa for an intern intending to work in the US.

Program Eligibility

In order to be eligible, candidates must meet the following requirements:

– be enrolled in the second to last year of a program leading to the equivalent of a four-year college degree.
