Job Description
We need an experienced accountant with attention to detail to handle all financial activities, including bank deposits, budgets, fixed payments, and variable expenses. To analyze economic data and forecasts, the ideal applicant will possess strong analytical abilities and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles. The objective is to help the department function as efficiently as possible overall and assist the business in fully understanding its financial situation.
Skills & Qualifications
- 7 years or more of proven accounting experience is required in financial services or similar industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a similar discipline
- ICAN accreditation is mandatory.
- Thorough acquaintance with the fundamentals of accounting.
- Proficiency in month-end and year-end close operations and general accounting tasks.
- Practical knowledge of bookkeeping software
- Advanced skills with MS Excel, such as pivot tables and Vlookups.
- Clarity as well as attention to detail.
- Aptitude for maths and proficiency in quantitative reasoning.
- Good time-management and organizing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Job Roles
- Set up and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.
- Evaluate all accounting transactions.
- Monitor bank deposits and make sure payments are made on schedule.
- Take care of the quarterly, annual, & monthly closings.
- Adjust the accounts receivable and payable.
- Make sure tax returns are filed on time, and communicate with outside auditors while conducting audits.
- Compile a financial status report by analyzing financial data.
- Create the schedules for all mandatory payments, including PAYE, withholding tax, pensions, company taxes, ITF, and NSITF, and then make sure they are sent on time.
- Ensure that the company’s Fixed Asset Register is accurate and comprehensive.
- Give managerial guidance and technical assistance.
- Take part in the forecasting process and the establishment of financial criteria.
- To preserve and bolster internal controls, create and record accounting policies and corporate procedures.
