The candidate for communications officer will be in charge of creating and carrying out communication plans that support the goals, values, and mission of the company.

To engage stakeholders and the general public, he or she will oversee internal and external communications, media relations, social media presence, and content production. They will also make sure that a consistent and impactful message is distributed across all platforms.

The Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) is a well-known and respected non-governmental organization that provides care and support services, research, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and capacity building for both infectious and non-infectious diseases, including cancer, HIV, and tuberculosis (TB). We are hiring to cover the following positions:

Major Responsibilities

– High-quality content should be written, edited, and produced for a variety of channels, such as websites, newsletters, social media posts, and press releases.

– Create and carry out thorough communication strategies.

– Create internal communication plans to maintain informed and motivated staff.

– Sync communication tactics with the aims and objectives of the organization.

– Keep an eye on and assess how well communication tactics are working.

– Produce and interact with multimedia materials, including infographics and films, to aid with communication initiatives.

– Build and preserve connections with IHVN’s media contacts.

– Create and disseminate media packages and news releases.

– Plan and oversee interviews, media briefings, and press conferences.

– Make announcements, memoranda, and newsletters for the internal audience.

– Organize meetings and activities inside the company to promote a positive culture.

– Create and put into action social media strategy to boost online visibility and interaction.

– Assist the social media (SM) officer in keeping an eye on various SM platforms and answering questions and comments.

– Make sure that the branding and messaging are the same on all platforms of communication.

– Interact with all parties involved, such as partners, staff, clients, and the community.

– Plan and take part in events and activities aimed at fostering community outreach.

Job Qualification

An applicant for this job must have:

– a bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, or a similar discipline.

– exceptional communication skills both in writing and speaking.

– strong project management and organizing skills.

– demonstrated expertise in a public relations or communication capacity.

– proficiency with content management systems and social media networks.

– the capacity to manage several projects at once while working under duress.

– imaginative thinking and aptitude for addressing issues.

– familiarity with crisis communication and media relations.

Required Skills

– Strong interpersonal abilities and capacity for teamwork in thematic teams.

– The ability to plan campaigns to communicate awareness

– Capacity to establish and preserve connections with the media, stakeholders, workers, suppliers, partners, and governmental organizations, among others

– Outstanding abilities in networking

– The capacity to function under duress and adjust to changing circumstances.

– Familiarity with collaborating across departments and teams.

– Adaptability in handling several priorities and responsibilities.

– Strong focus on details to guarantee communication materials are accurate and consistent.

– The capacity for original thought and the creation of creative content and communication tactics.

Working Hours

Weekend and night-time work may occasionally be required for a full-time position.
