1.Team Lead Plan

– Shell’s project execution engine, Projects & Engineering (P&E), manages new projects for our business partners in the Upstream, Downstream, Integrated Gas, and New Energies sectors in a safe and effective manner. – The Project Services Manager of Deepwater Projects (DWP) is the person to whom this role reports directly.  

– Producing and sustaining standardized, consistent, and realistic project plans that represent the evaluated risk factors for Nigerian Offshore projects is the responsibility of this function. Lead the planning team and take responsibility for completing the tasks and objectives associated with the scheduling and planning process. Establish targeted objectives to complete competitive “Best in Class” projects. 

Role Objectives 

As a team leader, you are expected to: 

– Provide and uphold unified, practical, and consistent plans and control frameworks for material, brownfield, flagship, and decommissioning projects. Create a list of the plans needed to complete the project, along with a hierarchy showing their order. To create the baseline and maintain it thereafter, drive, manage, and guarantee the completion of the development of activities, logic, resources, and progress for the integrated project schedule including local requirements. Apply, monitor adherence to, and make use of the Shell standard procedures and instruments.  

– Gather important input data, including project objectives, value drivers, scopes, contracting strategy, execution strategy, significant risks/opportunities, timetable, and embed carbon reduction & abatement. Then, incorporate these variables into your project planning along with local requirements and project complexity. 

– Create a Schedule Basis to record the process of creating a schedule or planning. Control the Planning Data. Create a procedure to gather real planning performance data, clean it up, and standardize it for later or ongoing use. Create a procedure for keeping planning files in a reliable, safe location. 

– Communicate with the project manager or potential company manager and push them to understand the critical scheduling drivers and sensitivities. Deliver a competitive and believable result to Senior Leadership.  

– Examine requests for scope changes to see how they may affect the project’s critical path and deadline. Make a reconciliation between the present timetable and previous ones. Compile the effects of authorized modifications and any departures from the main project goals and benchmarks. Use output tracking and “What if” scenarios to help with decision-making in project management. 

– Participate in the creation of contract/commercial strategy documents. Make sure that all contract/commercial milestones and important dates line up with the overall integrated plan. To support recommendations for contract award, assess contractor plans and contract bid schedules.  

– Participate in the creation of risk profiles for the project. Carry out planning estimate sensitivities and scenario comparisons that take project risks into account. Examine and evaluate the deterministic and probabilistic schedule risk analyses. Offer your skills in creating suitable backup plans for the project schedule. Monitor the criticality of the primary routes to completion, the release of the 50/50 schedule contingency, float consumption, and the attempts to mitigate schedule risk on a regular basis. 

– Initiate, design, and oversee the Planning Engineers and Progress Monitoring protocols to guarantee that every project component completes its tasks on schedule and with consistency. Own the monthly progress report, projection, critical path, and trend analysis for the entire schedule.  

– Create a structure for status reporting and deploy it across the planning hierarchy.  

– Comparing the length of time. Create benchmarking measures at the right level to compare top-down results against comparable internal and external data, such as past performance, industry standards, and set KPIs. Utilize IPA forms and reports to comprehend how Shell projects are compared to the most recent industry datasets. 

– Take part in project assurances, audits, and peer reviews.  

– Keep accurate records of dangers that have been identified and lessons learned for use in the future. Establish a reliable procedure for handling risk files in a safe location. 

– To make sure that DWP Nigeria’s objectives and SNEPCo Plans are in line, communicate with SNEPCo Technical Planning.  

– Encourage, mentor, and cultivate planning engineers to enhance project delivery, HSSE, quality, and planning and scheduling functional excellence. Continuous improvement is actively managed. 

– Ten (10) FTEs are directly reported.  

– Nigeria’s Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) advocates for the DWP Leadership Team to have a thorough overview of project milestones for both business planning (OP) and business performance review (BPR).  

– Participant in the Shell Project Controls Network. Work together for standardization, tool calibration, data gathering, benchmarking, continuous improvement, and assistance for regional and global planning with Shell Global Project Services (PS) and other Regions.  

– Block bidding, deals, exploration, greenfield, brownfield, and decommissioning from the phases of identify, assess, select, define, execute, and decommissioning are examples of opportunities and projects. 

– The following are important parties involved: the project team; discipline engineering; portfolio managers; wells; development; contracts and procurement; finance; human resources; commercial; legal; HSSE; assets; decommissioning; technical planning; group project services; vendors; contractors; NUIMS; NUPRC; and co-venturers.  

– Make sure the main opportunity/project tactics and expected outcomes are understood by all internal and external stakeholders. The Project Services Team is responsible for several tasks with varying project team membership. It is critical that PS Team members and other stakeholders view the support effort as extremely credible. The incumbent must have the background, mannerisms, and abilities to interact with a variety of stakeholders and reach consensus on the necessary conditions for effective outcomes. 

Qualification 

– An engineering degree is required; an external Certified Planning & Scheduling Professional certification (such as the AACEI-PSP) is a bonus.  

– Several years of experience in the oil and gas sector are essential. 

– 12 years or more of experience in the workforce  

– A significant amount of time (8 years) spent on downstream projects: possess substantial expertise in managing the scope of project services for post-DG3 projects as a planning professional, together with demonstrated experience in pre-DG3 projects.  

– Show that you can lead a team effectively. have prior direct report management experience. shown interpersonal and relational abilities in challenging settings, including the capacity to collaborate with staff from a variety of backgrounds. 

– Core competencies: a high degree of proficiency with project planning concepts.  

– Show your level of proficiency with the concepts, methods, applications, and tools of Shell Project Planning, such as Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse, and Primavera Risk Analysis. 

– Outstanding analytical, writing, teamwork, integration, and communication abilities. 

– Exhibit a high level of proficiency in presenting and explaining risk analysis and planning to diverse stakeholders. able to build trust with interested parties.

– An essential component of the Supply Chain Operations SNBO team based in Ikeja which assists Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN) is the Supply Chain – Materials Expediter position.  

– As a private contributor, it is your duty to communicate and work together with different levels of stakeholders in order to respond to questions, promptly address problems, and create future preventive action plans. 

Responsibilities 

You will be in charge of assuring that material purchase orders get processed effectively and on schedule so that essential materials are available at all Shell Nigeria work locations. In light of this, the role’s dimensions comprise: 

– serve as the main point of contact for Shell when working with material suppliers.
